The National Law Journal ranked Loyola Law School among its 50 "Go-To Law Schools" in key categories: 39th for the number of its 2012 alumni who became first-year associates at NLJ 250 firms and 27th for the number of associates promoted to partner at those firms in 2012. Thomas Johns' 13 left a 10-year career as a pilot in search of a fresh start. He was drawn to the legal industry because he could incorporate his expertise for flying into aviation law. Students in the International Human Rights Clinic investigate human rights violations occurring all over the world, most recently in Ecuador, Jamaica and Haiti. Their work includes analyzing cases, researching laws and drafting documents for submission to tribunals like the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights.
