Loyola Law School's Entertainment Moot Court Team, featuring the dynamic trio of Madeline Lim ‘24, Violet Flocks ‘25, and Stephanie Lamb ‘24, hit all the right notes with a remarkable victory at the 2024 National Entertainment Moot Court Competition, sponsored by Cardozo Law School in New York City.
Outperforming 24 other esteemed teams, including those from Georgetown, Fordham, NYU, and UVA, our team snapped up a win after a compelling final round against Florida State University. The presiding justices – Hon. Edgardo Ramos (SDNY), Hon. Sarah L. Cave (SDNY), and Hon. Andrew J. Peck (Ret.) – collectively declared Loyola the competition's champions.
Additionally, our team received the "Runner Up Brief" award, with Violet Flocks recognized as the "Runner Up Oralist" out of 56 competitors. This victory marks Loyola's second championship win in the last three years, following our success at the Pepperdine competition in 2021-2022.
The team's success is a testament to their hard work and the guidance of Adjunct Professor David Jonelis ’09, who provided invaluable coaching. Their preparation included participation in the spring 2023 Entertainment Law Moot Court Intramural Competition course taught by Professor Jonelis and Adjunct Professor Kim Thigpen Tyler, as well as involvement in the Scott Moot Court program's advanced writing seminar during the summer.
Please join us in congratulating our outstanding team and Coach, and extending our gratitude to all who supported them along the way.
