Celebrating our time-honored traditions

We are excited to uphold our cherished traditions as we welcome the Class of 2025 and their guests to our first LLS hooding ceremony on campus on Friday, May 16. This special event, inspired by the LMU School of Education’s doctoral hooding ceremony, will provide a wonderful opportunity for our community to unite in celebrating the remarkable achievements of our students and their guests.

8:30 a.m. to 9:30a.m. Graduate check-in
9:30 a.m.: Campus opens for guests.
10:45 a.m. All guests must be seated for the procession of graduates
11:00 a.m. Processional and hooding program begins
1:00 p.m. Hooding ceremony concludes, graduates process out

Graduates and their guests are encouraged to arrive earlier than necessary in anticipation of other traffic in downtown L.A. related to sporting and other events in the area.
All graduates should report to Founders Hall Plaza upon arrival. LLS graduates are required to present their name card, and regalia to enter the student area. Graduates are required to wear academic regalia to participate in the ceremony.

Graduates and their guests are encouraged to arrive earlier than necessary in anticipation of other traffic in downtown L.A. related to sporting and other events in the area.
To ensure safety for this intimate event capacity on the LLS campus is limited. Each graduate will be issued four guest wristbands at After LLS on April 28 between 2-6pm. If graduates do not plan to use all four wristbands, they may be shared with fellow graduates seeking more.

Children 2 years old and under, who are seated on a lap, do not need a wristband to attend. Please note that strollers are not permitted inside the ceremony area. Stollers will need to be kept in a designated stroller zone.

Wristbands and parking passes as well as name cards for the hooding ceremony can be picked up on Monday, April 28 from 2-6pm at After LLS.
If you cannot make it to After LLS to pick up your hooding ceremony name card, wristbands and parking passes, you can stop by the Office of Student Affairs to pick up your packet starting on Tuesday, April 29.

LLS graduates are encouraged to attend After LLS to pick up their regalia, hooding ceremony name card, wristbands and parking passes.

Regalia can be picked up in the LLS bookstore during business hours starting on Monday, April 28.

Parking for graduates and guests at the Hooding Ceremony is limited and the structure will open at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16. Each graduate will be issued two parking passes. Parking passes for the Hooding Ceremony will be available for pick up at After LLS. Passes must be displayed on the dashboard to enter the LLS parking structure.

All parking zones have ADA parking stalls within each parking lot available on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you have questions about ADA parking and seating accommodations, please email Campus Operations at dept-operations@lls.edu.

Parking for graduates and guests is available in the LMU Loyola Law School parking garage.

Light snacks and refreshments can be purchased at Sonias Cafe. There will be hosted water stations throughout campus.
