Support Loyola’s social justice mission and recommend Loyola as a beneficiary of a class action cy pres distribution. Our students annually contribute more than 60,000 hours of pro bono service through opportunities like the Loyola Law School Social Justice Clinic, our Public Interest Law Foundation, and many other opportunities that are the core of our mission.
Designating Loyola Law School as a cy pres recipient will help provide our students hands-on experience and improve the lives of those in need. We are committed to training students who have a passion for using their legal education to help members of the community who would otherwise not be able to afford legal assistance.
Cy pres awards are unclaimed funds from class action settlements or judgments. These funds can be awarded to a nonprofit organization that engages in work that advances public interest. The court makes the final determination of where a cy pres award should be directed, but plaintiff and defense attorneys have an opportunity to influence that decision by recommending Loyola Law School as a beneficiary.
