Loyola Project for the Innocent
Loyola’s Project for the Innocent is the only wrongful conviction clinic dedicated to serving Los Angeles County, the leader in felony convictions in a state where almost 700 individuals have been proven wrongfully convicted since 1989.
Since its founding, the Project’s faculty and students have evaluated more than 500 wrongful conviction cases and played a key role in the exoneration of Kash Register, who was awarded a $17.6 million settlement from the Los Angeles City Council for his wrongful conviction. Currently the Project for the Innocent is investigating 26 cases and actively litigating on behalf of five clients with plausible claims of innocence.
