Loyola Law School, Los Angeles offers students the opportunity to earn both a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Tax LL.M. simultaneously in three years. It is the only fully sequenced program which will prepare students to practice tax law immediately upon graduation. Loyola's highly respected tax professors coupled with its nationally ranked Tax LL.M. program and downtown Los Angeles location gives J.D. / Tax LL.M. students the opportunity to get and excel in externships at respected tax offices like the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, California Attorney General Business and Tax Division, California State Board of Equalization, the United States Bankruptcy Courts and many others. To complete the program in three years, Loyola offers a 10-week Summer Tax Intensive covering material related to income taxation, advanced income taxation and business entity taxation. This program is not available at any other law school in the United States and completion of the Summer Tax Intensive allows students to participate in fall on-campus interviews putting them on the fast-track for a permanent offer from a big-firm upon graduation.
