Graduate Tax Programs
The Graduate Tax Program at LMU Loyola Law School, offered on-ground and in a flexible online format, has been ranked among the U.S. News & World Report top 10 tax programs for the past 10 years, and offers rigorous, practical training designed to produce practice-ready tax practitioners in a supportive and personalized environment. LLS' Graduate Tax Programs include:
- Tax LLM: Loyola's Tax LLM program offers rigorous, practical training designed to produce practice-ready tax practitioners in a supportive and personalized environment. The Tax LLM program is available both on-campus and online.
- Master in Taxation: Our new Master of Tax Law (MT) program makes the same rigorous tax law training available to non-lawyers. In this regard, it is different from most other MT programs. Our courses are taught by tax lawyers, using law texts and intensive problem-based law teaching techniques. Our goal is to give non-lawyers the tools they need to engage in tax research, planning, and dispute resolution at the highest levels. Although not limited to accountants, our MT program is intended to allow accounting students to satisfy California’s “fifth year” requirements for CPA licensure. Because undergraduate accounting programs vary greatly, students should visit the California Board of Accountancy to determine whether our program will allow them to complete their requirements for California licensure. The Master of Tax Law program is available both on-campus and online.
- JD/Tax LLM Program: Loyola offers what we believe to be the only fully-sequenced 3-year Joint JD/Tax LLM program in the United States. Three years. Two degrees. A program designed to make you practice-ready in tax immediately upon graduation.
