Serafin Serrano
Chapter Coordinator
Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice
Serafín Serrano has devoted his life's work to social justice, mentorship, and community flourishment. He has served in numerous capacities including that of mentor, program manager, facilitator, trainer, and consultant for community-based organizations. His ongoing committment and passion for his work stems from the loss of his mentor and brother, Theodore, who was violently killed in Los Angeles in 1986 and, most recently, the murder of his nephew, Ernie Teddy Serrano, by the Riverside County Sheriffs Department. As Chapter Coordinator for Crime Survivor for Safety and Justice, his audacious intention is to advocate for public policies and practices that are equitable, inclusive, and tranformative. Serafin has a Bachelor's in Psychology and Social Behavior from UCI.
