1990

Dennis T. Yokoyama, a faculty member at Southwestern Law School, received the Excellence in Teaching Award for the second time since joining Southwestern in 1992.

1991

Katherine E. Adkins, vice president, general counsel and secretary of Toyota Financial Services in Torrance, CA, made the Los Angeles Daily Journal’s list of the most innovative in-house counsel in California for 2013; Adkins oversees a 28-member legal department.  Hillary S. Bibicoff, transactional entertainment attorney and a member of the executive committee of the professional representatives section of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, departed from Greenberg Glusker and joined Holmes Weinberg PC in Malibu, CA.  Jerome M.J.F. Jauffret, a Mayer Brown LLP attorney since 1991, joined Safarian Choi Bolstad LLP as a litigation partner with the Los Angeles, CA-based law firm; Jauffret practices employment litigation and counseling. Gary S. Spitzer practices as an associate at Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley, P.C. in the Los Angeles, CA, specializing in professional liability, business and commercial litigation, and employment law. 

1992

Daniel A. Rozansky, an entertainment litigation partner with Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, was honored among the 50 entertainment attorneys for Variety magazine's Impact Report for 2013 for his work in successfully defending his client Aramid Entertainment 

1993

Kevin S. Kim, chairman of Los Angeles-based BBCN Bancorp Inc. and its bank board of directors, was appointed to the additional positions of president and chief executive officer.     Gale D. Pearson, senior partner with Pearson, Randall & Schumacher, P.A. in Minneapolis, MN, is a Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the year finalist; Pearson’s nomination is the result of a landmark jury verdict in a qui tam case. Additionally, Pearson shared the U.S. Legal system with a school from India that serves underprivileged children and leper colonies in Dehradun, India.  Brian P. Walter was listed in the 2013 Southern California Super Lawyers; Walter is partner and a specialist in employment and labor law with the Los Angeles, CA office of Liebert, Cassidy & Whitmore.

1994

Christopher M. Adishian’s El Segundo, CA-based corporate, employment and real estate law firm, the Adishian Law Group, P.C., was profiled in the May-June 2013 issue of Southbay magazine. Adishian’s firm also has satellite offices in Palo Alto and San Francisco, CA.  Michael R. Heimbold joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP as a partner in the firm’s business trial practice group in Los Angeles, CA.  Jonathan P. Fairtlough, recently a Los Angeles district attorney, joined the Los Angeles office of Kroll as managing director and senior member of the cyber investigations practice. Fairtlough is an instructor for the National Computer Forensic Institute and an adjunct professor of cyber law and forensics at Cypress College.  Gary W. Park joined the Oxbridge Law Group in Los Angeles, CA as managing partner; Park continues to specialize in litigation, banking and business services.  

1995

Steven J. Glouberman was promoted from general counsel to senior vice president, chief risk officer and general counsel at Kinecta Federal Credit Union, where he oversees the legal and enterprise risk management functions of the 251,700-member credit union.   Joan Mack of Caldwell, Leslie & Proctor, PC in Los Angeles, CA received the Patricia D. Phillips Outstanding Committee Service Award from the Los Angeles County Bar Association (the award’s namesake, Patricia Phillips ’67, is also a Loyola alumna). Victor D. Nieblas Pradis, a private practice litigator specializing in immigration law, was named first vice president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association for 2013-14. 

1996

Joanna H. Kim was named general counsel with First Capitol Consulting, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA; she previously worked for Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.  Jennifer Hankes Painter joined On Assignment Inc., a global provider of skilled professionals in technology, healthcare and the life sciences, as vice president and general counsel; Hankes Painter was with the administration at MRV Communications Inc.  Robert R. Roginson joined OgletreeDeakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. as a shareholder with the Los Angeles, CA office and practicing employment law.

1997

Sean W. Southard made the move from Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP to co-establish Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard and Swanson LLP (also known as CGS3) in San Diego, CA; the firm focuses on commercial real estate transactions and Southard is a leasing transactions specialist.

1998

Amy W. Krause was appointed director and patient advocate with the State of California Office of the Patient Advocate; Krause previously served the California Department of Managed Health Care as assistant chief counsel, and WellPoint Health Networks Inc. as public policy manager.

1999

Sara Campos del Rio, Mary Britt ’06, and Loyola Law School student Eyad Aljubran ’14 received the Outstanding Mediation Case Award from the County of Los Angeles on behalf of The Center for Conflict Resolution; Professor Mary B. Culbert ’84 serves as director The Center, which received the award for the second consecutive year.  Jonesh (Jon) G. Daryanani joined Perkins Coie as partner with the labor and employment practice in Los Angeles, CA office.  Kevin S. Kinigstein was promoted to partner at Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP: Kinigstein practices commercial real estate law.  Peter J. Nolan, senior deputy district attorney on the homicide unit in Indio, CA, was recently recognized as the state’s 2013 Outstanding Prosecutor by the California District Attorneys Association.  Nolan was hired by the Office of the District Attorney, Riverside County, in 1999 and has prosecuted homicides exclusively since 2008.

Judicial

The Hon. Teresa A. Sullivan’96 was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to judgeship with the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles; since 1999, Sullivan was a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles, CA.
