Visas
U.S. visitors to Cyprus (both north and south) do not need a visa, if staying less than 90 days, but must have a valid passport.
Crossing between the two halves of the island was opened in 2004. Nowadays, crossing is a non issue. For EU passport holders it is easy because the whole of the island is de jure EU territory. For US citizens and other non-EU persons, they will not have any problems traveling between the two halves as long as they first arrive in Cyprus via the airport in the south (Larnaka). If they get to Cyprus through the northern airport (Ercan, via Istanbul), they will be able to cross south only through the 3 check-points in Nicosia. They will not be able to cross through the two check points nearest to Famagusta which are controlled by the UK. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to plan to arrive to Cyprus via the Larnaka airport. Also, keep in mind that one cannot rent cars in the north and drive south but one can do the opposite.

Students who are admitted will be required to provide the following information in order to confirm their admission and participate in the program:

Accessibility
As a result of Cyprus’ People with Disabilities Law public buildings and tourist facilities built after 1999 are required to be accessible to persons with disabilities. Access older areas and buildings, is generally limited. "Accessible Cyprus: Information for Visitors with Special Access Needs" produced by the Cyprus Tour Organization, provides additional information regarding accessible travel in Cyprus.
The facilities at University of Nicosia are accessible to all persons with disabilities. Specifically, there are lifts available in every building and ramps for wheelchairs at the main entrances.
However, there may be certain aspects of the extra-curricular activities that may not be accessible or easily accessible. Faculty and staff will make every effort to meet the needs of individual students in these situations. Please contact Debbie Esparza at Debbie.Esparza@lls.edu with any accessibility questions or concerns.
