The Office of Career Services offers a wealth of services, programs and resources to students and alumni.
On-Campus Interviews
A diverse representation of outstanding national and regional law firms, government agencies, corporations and public interest concerns participate in the Fall On-Campus Interview (OCI) Program. Employers from around the country conduct interviews on campus or receive resumes for in-office interviews. The Office of Career Services coordinates thousands of interviews. A smaller Spring program provides additional job opportunities.
Career Planning
Individual counseling and workshops on the job search, resume preparation and interviewing skills are available year-round. The Career Services Library contains a wealth of print and on-line resources and job information. The Office of Career Services provides support for students who wish to enter private practice, as well as special programs and services for those interested in pursuing public service and non-traditional careers. The office also participates in programs designed to enhance job opportunities for students from underrepresented groups.
Public Interest, Government and Other Career Days
Loyola participates in an annual Public Interest Career Day, and hosts an annual Government Careers Information Day. Both programs have interview components and are jointly sponsored by Southern California ABA-accredited law schools. Representatives from public interest organizations and government agencies attend. Four additional career days occur throughout the year.
Alumni Services & Activities
Most services and resources of this office are available to graduates free of charge, along with special alumni services (e.g., a weekly distribution of current job openings). Alumni also serve as a resource for students who want to investigate particular areas of specialization or geographic regions; many graduates return to participate in on-campus career events on a wide range of topics.
Graduate Employment Rates
Loyola graduates typically enjoy an employment rate of 94% or more within nine months of graduation. For details, please see Employment Statistics.
